Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Castelnau

This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man with Van Castelnau in respect of the current financial year. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Castelnau provides transport, removals and related support services to domestic and commercial customers. Our activities rely on a combination of directly engaged personnel, subcontracted drivers and handlers, and third-party suppliers who may provide vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, uniforms and ancillary services. We acknowledge that some sectors connected to logistics and manual labour can be at higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where there are complex subcontracting arrangements, temporary work or migrant labour.

We aim to work only with suppliers and partners that share our commitment to lawful, fair and safe working practices. We seek to build long-term, transparent relationships that promote respect for human rights and dignity.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

Man with Van Castelnau has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage and child labour. We do not knowingly engage with any organisation, or individual acting on its behalf, that is involved in such practices. Any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery connected to our operations or supply chains will be treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities and any other appropriate remedial action.

Policies and Governance

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is embedded in our internal policies and procedures, including our approach to recruitment, subcontractor engagement, health and safety, and conduct at work. We require that people engaged in our operations are free to leave employment, paid fairly, work in safe conditions and are treated with dignity and respect. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or abuse in any form.

Responsibility for overseeing our response to modern slavery risks sits with senior management, who ensure that the principles of this statement are integrated into day-to-day decision-making and contractual arrangements.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We are committed to assessing and managing the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains. Before entering into new relationships, we consider the nature of the goods or services, the location of the supplier, and any known sector-specific risks. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws and that they maintain practices that prevent modern slavery.

We reserve the right to carry out audits or site visits, either directly or through trusted third parties, to verify compliance with our standards. These audits may include reviewing employment records, worker conditions and relevant policies. If a supplier is found to be in breach, we expect timely corrective action. Failure to address identified concerns may lead to the ending of the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

We encourage anyone connected with our business, including workers, contractors, suppliers and customers, to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be reported through existing internal reporting lines, directly to management, or via any established whistleblowing channels set out in our internal policies.

Reports will be handled sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any individual who raises a concern in good faith. All reports will be investigated promptly and appropriate action will be taken where necessary, which may include engaging with authorities or support organisations.

Training and Awareness

We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential to preventing modern slavery. We aim to provide appropriate information and guidance to our staff and key contractors so they can recognise indicators of exploitation, understand our zero-tolerance stance and know how to report concerns. Training will be adapted over time to reflect changes in law, best practice and identified risk areas.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Castelnau is committed to continually improving its approach to identifying, preventing and responding to modern slavery risks. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, guidance or our business activities. The review will consider the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, audits, training and reporting mechanisms, and will identify actions for further improvement.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Castelnau and will be updated and published annually to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all parts of our business and supply chains.
